We all worry about the purity of the water we drink and every now and again we hear of reports of contamination problems and the water may not be as clean as we would like it to be. When you think that we use this water for drinking we use it to cook food in and all our clothes are washed in this same water.

The usual way of cleaning water is with the use of chlorine and some people may react to the chlorine that remains though a bigger problem is that people often don't like the taste of the local water supply.

The only way to be sure about the quality of the water you and your family drink is by the installation of a drinking water filters in your home that can clean all the water you need. The difficulty of installing a drinking water purifier will depend on what type of system you would prefer and whether you want to keep it simple or go for comprehensive installations.

The Britas water jug filtration system is the most well known and these are very easy to use as they are just a normal water jug that you fill up and you keep them filled in your kitchen ready to use as required. If you want something a little more permanent that include purifiers you can get ones that to be fitted over the normal kitchen taps which enables you to have running water that has been filtered.

These offer a fairly low cost option and they provide a good solution for most people but you may find that once you start using them you would rather have a full cleaning and purifying installation. Permanent drinking water purifiers are built right into your plumbing system and purify your water as it comes through the pipes cleaned and ready for you to drink.

A lot of these systems require you to change a filtration cartridge occasionally to maintain their efficiency. Fixed installations are obviously a lot more expensive than the simple pitcher and faucet mounted models but they are quick and easy to use and you hardly know they are there.

The ultimate systems don't even have filters and distillation water purifiers work though boiling water and condensing the steam on a cold metal surface so you get only pure clean water coming out. We can't go on without mentioning two other water filtration systems available which are the UV purifying type and the reverse osmosis filtering system.

With a UV purifier the water is zapped with ultraviolet rays directed through the water and hit anything that shouldn't be there to kill off any bacteria. The reverse osmosis water filters direct all the water through a filter that only allows pure water to pass through and this prevents anything except water getting through.

So these systems give you the cleanest water you can get and catches all sorts of contaminants giving to give you clean water to drink. All of these types of purifiers will help to clean your water but the reverse osmosis drinking water purifier will do the best job and is the ultimate water purifying system.
