Reshaping Bones Around Teeth With Bone And Flap Periodontal Surgery
Bone surgery or Osseous surgery accompanies flap surgery. Osseous surgery is a periodontal surgery that is performed to reshape some of the bone around the tooth. A bone area may be employed to replace lost bone in some cases. To stabilize loose or mobile teeth temporarily, splints or other appliances may be used, and this may be necessary after periodontal therapy completion. In advanced stages of the disease, other effective procedures are also available for replacing gum tissue and bones that are destroyed. These surgical procedures are used for specific periodontal conditions. It is best to talk with your dentist about the right treatments that will work for your dental problem.
